In Etah, Uttar Pradesh, a grandmother had vowed that if she finds a good boy for her granddaughter’s marriage, she will attend Bhole Baba’s satsang and serve him. The granddaughter’s marriage was fixed some time ago. After this, preparations for the wedding were going on at home. In this happiness, death brought Ganga Devi of Aligarh to the satsang being held in Sikandrarao, Hathras on Tuesday. She also lost her life during the stampede there.
Shakuntala, a resident of Mamouta village, Madrak police station, Aligarh district, said that Ganga Devi of the locality was impatient to go to the satsang for the last 5 days. Her wish had been fulfilled, preparations were going on at home for the marriage of her granddaughter. She told her granddaughter Kuka to come along with her to Baba’s satsang and if she asked for any other wish, it would be fulfilled. But due to ill health, Kuka refused to go.
When Ganga Devi told all of us, about 50 people from the village had come together for the satsang on Tuesday. Due to the stampede there, everyone started running here and there, but Ganga Devi died after being crushed under the debris. After this, as soon as the information was received, there was chaos in the wedding house. The family members reached the Etah post-mortem house directly, crying and wailing.
Now I will never go to any satsang
Shakuntala Devi shuddered while telling about the accident. She said that she had come to this satsang thinking that she would benefit from listening to some words of wisdom. But here people died. During the stampede, people were dying in front of my eyes. I too got stuck in the crowd. The people accompanying me somehow pulled me out. While telling this, tears started flowing from her eyes and Shakuntala Devi said that now I will never go to any satsang.
